A secure cage is a physically enclosed, lockable perimeter within a shared data centre hall, restricting access to your infrastructure while remaining within a multi-tenant environment. A private hall provides complete tenant separation with dedicated access control and no shared infrastructure with other customers. We offer both options, sized and configured to match your specific compliance and operational requirements.

Secure cages are used by organisations operating under regulatory frameworks that require physical separation of infrastructure, including financial services firms, healthcare providers, legal practices, and public sector bodies. They are also chosen by businesses with internal governance policies that prohibit shared access environments, regardless of regulatory requirement.

Every access event is recorded by We’s access control system, capturing the identity of the individual, the time of entry and exit, and the method of access. Access logs are available to customers for internal audit and compliance reporting purposes. We can provide access reports on request or on a scheduled basis as part of the service agreement.

Yes, but only under a controlled access protocol agreed with your team. Our Smart Hands engineers carry out hardware installation, maintenance, and physical interventions within secure spaces with prior authorisation from named customer contacts. All engineer access events are logged in the same way as customer access.

Secure cages At our facilities are connected to the facility’s N+1 power infrastructure with dedicated circuits available for higher draw requirements. Standard air-cooled colocation is the default for cage environments, with the option to integrate direct-to-chip cooling for customers deploying high-density compute within their dedicated space.
